Overnight Traffic Stops on CO 157 and CO 7 in Boulder Sept. 17-21

Crews will remove old mast arms and install new ones over traffic lanes

Starting Sunday, Sept. 17, drivers can expect intermittent nighttime traffic stops and delays on Colorado Highway 157 and Colorado Highway 7 as crews remove and install new mast arms over three intersections. This configuration will be in place from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. until Thursday, Sept. 21.

The nighttime work is necessary for the safety of crews and motorists during operations, as well as to provide minimal travel impacts.

Travel Impacts

  • Prepare for delays of up to 15 minutes, with intermittent nighttime traffic stops on CO 7 (Arapahoe Road) and CO 157 (Foothills Parkway).
  • Crews will work on the road from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Thursday at the following intersections:
    • Foothills Parkway (CO 157) and Baseline Road
    • Foothills Parkway (CO 157) and Valmont Road
    • Arapahoe Road (CO 7) and Cherryvale Road
  • No height or width restrictions will be in place.
  • The speed limit will be maintained at the posted limits.

Project Info

Crews are removing the existing, outdated traffic signals and equipment to install newer and safer ones. Work will also improve sidewalks, upgrade signing and striping, and replace curb ramps with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) -compliant ramps.

The $1.2 project will improve roadway and sidewalk safety. It encompasses two other intersections in Boulder, and one intersection in Greeley, for which work is slated to start later this year. WL Contractors is the prime contractor for this work.
