TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Frontage Road Closures Through Project Site Next Week; Separate Days of Full Daytime Closures for Paving

September 21, 2017 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - VAIL — During the week of Sept. 25, there will be a full daytime closure of the North Frontage Road and a full daytime closure of the South Frontage Road as part of the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and Town of Vail’s I-70 Vail Underpass project.

These full closures, which will occur only through the project site, will take place on separate days. During these closures, motorists are advised to use I-70 as an alternate route.

The North Frontage Road will be closed through the project site from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 25. The South Frontage Road will be closed through the project site from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26. These single day frontage road closures will allow crews to complete final frontage road paving work. This schedule is weather dependent and may change if inclement or cold temperatures are in the forecast.

While there will be full closures through the project site, frontage road businesses and properties will remain accessible.

The I-70 Vail Underpass project is progressing on schedule and on budget. The frontage road paving work scheduled to occur next week signifies a push toward project completion, expected for the end of October.
