Traffic Shifts on I-25 Over Santa Fe Avenue Beginning Sept. 19

September 13, 2017 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - PUEBLO — The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and contractor Flatiron Constructors, Inc. will reduce traffic to a single lane in each direction 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 19 to 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 20 on Interstate-25 over Santa Fe Avenue (US 50C). All ramps will remain open.

Traffic will be reduced to a single lane on northbound I-25 over Santa Fe Avenue (US 50C) from 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 20 to 7:00 a.m. Thursday, September 21. All ramps will remain open.

When lanes are reopened, northbound I-25 lanes will shift west to the newly constructed widened portion of the I-25 bridge over Santa Fe Avenue (US 50C).

Slight traffic delays are expected, speeds will be reduced to 45 MPH, and motorists are urged to use extra caution while traveling in the new traffic pattern.

The closures and traffic shift are necessary for bridge work.

PROJECT INFORMATION: The I-25 Ilex Street to City Center Drive project is the first project of the New Pueblo Freeway: the reconstruction of I-25 between City Center Drive (1st Street) and Ilex Street through downtown Pueblo. Construction includes upgrading several bridges south of downtown. The project began in July 2015, and is scheduled to be complete by spring 2019.
