Overnight closures of US 6 for tunnel inspections

JEFFERSON & CLEAR CREEK COUNTIES — The Colorado Department of Transportation will close portions of US Highway 6 (US 6) in Clear Creek Canyon overnight Tuesday, Nov. 3 and Wednesday, Nov. 4 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The closures are to conduct necessary tunnel inspections along US 6. The closure schedule is outlined below.

TRAVEL IMPACTS:

Tuesday, Nov. 3: US 6 will be closed between CO 58 and CO 119 from 10 p.m. Nov. 3 until 6 a.m. Nov. 4. The closure schedule is weather dependent. Motorists will need to use Interstate 70 both east and westbound as an alternate route around the closure.

Wednesday, Nov. 4: US 6 will be closed between CO 119 and US 40 from 10 p.m. Nov. 4 until 6 a.m. Nov. 5. The closure schedule is weather dependent. Motorists traveling on US 6 will be able to continue onto CO 119. Motorists traveling on I-70 will need to use Central City Parkway to connect with CO 119.
