Rescheduled: US 6 to close between Eagle and Wolcott Monday through Thursday for culvert replacement

October 24, 2022 - Northwestern Colorado - The road will be closed to through-traffic

Eagle County — The Colorado Department of Transportation will close US 6 between Eagle and Wolcott for four days, starting Monday, to replace an irrigation culvert that failed about a month ago.

Maintenance crews repaired the break (at mile point 153) with temporary steel plates while waiting for the new concrete culvert to get delivered.

Travel Impacts

The road will be closed to through-traffic on US 6 on Monday Oct. 17-20, but access for residents will be maintained. The closure will be posted on COtrip.org.

Detour Route

Use I-70 to get to Eagle or Wolcott. Message boards will be posted on I-70 and US 6 for the detour.
