Mountain Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) Locations

The Bald Mountain AWOS is located on Bald Mountain (9825’ MSL), approximately 11 miles east of Cottonwood Pass (12,126 MSL).

The Berthoud Pass Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) is located at 12,493 feet MSL, 1 mile east of the Berthoud Pass summit, at the summit of Mines Peak.

The Red Cliff area weather is reported from an AWOS at the top of the Copper Mountain Ski Resort, about 1 mile south of I-70. The AWOS is installed on the ski patrol headquarters building at an elevation of 12,075' MSL.

The Dakota Hill Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) is located on the summit of Dakota Hill, north-northwest of Central City, and approximately 7 miles east of Rollins Pass at an elevation of 10,938' MSL.

This Mountain Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) is located at the Kremmling-McElroy Field (20V) at an elevation of 7411' MSL.

The La Veta Pass Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) is located at the top of La Veta Pass, 4 miles south of Highway 160. The weather reporting unit is located at the State Telecommunications microwave site at 10,216 ft. MSL.

The Monarch Pass Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) is located at the top of Monarch Pass on the south side of Highway 50. The AWOS is located at and elevation of 12,030 ft. MSL. If you ride the sky tram from the souvenir stand parking lot, the AWOS is about 50 ft. from the top of the tram.

The Monument Hill Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) is located at the Kelly Air Park in Elbert County about 12 miles south of Elizabeth. The AWOS is located at an elevation of 7050 ft. MSL.

This mountain Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) is located at the Saguache Municipal Airport (04V) at an elevation of 7850' MSL.

The Sunlight Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) site is located at 10,603’ MSL at the top of Sunlight Mountain, which is southwest of the city of Glenwood Springs.

The Walton Peak Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) is located at the summit of Walton Peak, 5 miles west of Rabbit Ears Pass. This AWOS is located at 10,577' MSL.

The Wilkerson Pass Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) is located at the top of Badger Mountain on a State Telecommunications Microwave site, about 1.5 miles northeast of Wilkerson Pass at an elevation of 11,279' MSL.

The Wolf Creek Pass Automated Weather Observing System AWOS is located at the top of the Wolf Creek Ski Resort. It is about 1/2 mile south of Highway 160 on a microwave tower north of the highest point of the ski lift. This AWOS is located directly at the top of Wolf Creek Pass at 11,760 MSL.
