Fatal Crash Data

Data & Statistics Overview

The Safety Programs, Data and Analysis unit provides fatal data and statistics used to develop performance targets, performance tracking, and trends that are used to help reduce the fatalities on Colorado roadways. The dashboard below presents the number of vehicle occupants or non-motorists killed in crashes involving a motor vehicle along Colorado public roadways. All crash data listings, reports and dashboards are protected under 23 U.S.C. Section 407.

The Safety Programs, Data and Analysis unit also provides data to the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS). FARS is a nationwide census providing NHTSA, Congress and the American public annual data regarding fatal injuries suffered in motor vehicle traffic crashes.  Access the FARS Encyclopedia.
