Company Overview

Founded in Boulder in 1947, Flatiron has grown to become one of the leading infrastructure contractors in North America.  Flatiron has proudly built numerous projects with CDOT over the years, ranging from common to complex, including the following:

  • I-76, York to Dahlia Bridge Reconstruction, Adams County (Region 1) 
    • This project replaced the aging I-76 bridges over York Street and reconstruct much of the driving surface on I-76 from York to Dahlia streets in Adams County. This project was recognized by the CO/WY Chapter of the American Concrete Pavement Association with an Excellence in Concrete Paving Award.
  • 4th Street Bridge, Pueblo (Region 2)
    • This 1,137-foot-long cast-in-place bridge, which included the longest concrete span in Colorado at time of construction, spans the Arkansas River and 36-track Pueblo Rail Yard. This project was recognized as one of the Top 10 US Bridges for the year it was built as well as for project management and environmental excellence.
  • US 36 Mile Point 8 / Muggins Gulch (Region 4)
    • The U.S. 36 Mile Point 8 project near Estes Park rerouted the Little Thompson River from alongside the highway back to its original alignment passing under U.S. 36 through Muggins Gulch. This Best Value selection project was recognized by ENR Mountain States as one of the best projects of the year and by CDOT for environmental excellence.
