I-70 Traffic Stops in Georgetown Area

February 22, 2013 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Central Eastern Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - CLEAR CREEK COUNTY – Lane closures and traffic stops will be taking place on Interstate 70 at Georgetown Hill next week for rock scaling and fence installation, weather permitting.
  • Monday, February 25: Right lane closed westbound from Georgetown to Silver Plume – 10 a.m. to sundown
  • Tuesday, February 26, & Wednesday, February 27Traffic stops of 20 minutes on eastbound and westbound I-70 throughout the day (approximately twice each hour) from 10 a.m. until sundown.  Westbound traffic will be stopped at the Georgetown interchange; eastbound traffic at the Silver Plume interchange.
  • Thursday, February 28: Right lane closed westbound from Georgetown to Silver Plume – 10 a.m. to sundown

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) must stop traffic to maintain safety through the area for the traveling public.

Removing loose rocks and securing additional rocks and boulders on Georgetown Hill is providing I-70 drivers with long-term safety enhancements in an area that can be prone to rockfall.
