I-25 South Expansion Project Construction Postponed

March 22, 2013 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - Weather forecast forces delay in barrier placement.

Colorado Springs, Colo. – The @i25expansion Project contractor has postponed night work scheduled for the week of March 24 because of winter weather conditions forecasted for the Front Range.  Weather and road conditions will be evaluated Monday, March 25 before a decision is made as to when to begin work. The activities impacted include placing concrete barriers to the outside lanes of both northbound and southbound I-25 to create a protected work zone.

Once work does begin, the barrier placement work will involve temporary lane closures between 8:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. for several days in a row.

The @i25expansion Project will widen 11-miles of I-25 to three lanes in each direction between Woodmen Road in Colorado Springs and Monument. Drivers are reminded stay alert while driving through work zones, speed limits along the entire construction corridor will be reduced and fines doubled for speeding in a construction zone.
