Traffic Stops Ahead at Highway 67 Bridge Site

June 26, 2013 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - FREMONT COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) begins alternating traffic through its bridge construction area between Florence and Wetmore on State Highway 67 today.

CDOT needs to close one lane of the two-lane detour to allow some final construction to take place. A signal will alternate northbound and southbound traffic every two minutes, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Vehicles wider than 11 feet are restricted from traveling through the area.

The one lane detour remains in place for about three weeks.

A two-lane paved detour was constructed shortly after the original structure was heavily damaged by flooding last July, five miles north of Wetmore.  Construction of the new $1.1 million bridge began in April and is scheduled for completion in July.
