I-25 Bridge work postponed until Tomorrow

November 25, 2013 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - EL PASO COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is rescheduling the work at the South Academy Bridge due to cold temperatures. It was set to take place today.

CDOT now will close the right lane of northbound Interstate 25 at the South Academy Boulevard Bridge onTuesday, November 26, for waterproofing and paving. Drivers can expect slowdowns and delays through the area while traffic is reduced to one lane from 10 a.m. to about 4 p.m.  Alternate routes are advised, including State Highway 16 (Exit 132) to U.S. 85 and back to northbound I-25.

Expansion joint work still needs to take place on the bridge.  If weather permits, CDOT expects to schedule it next week.  An advisory will be sent out before the work begins to notify the traveling public.
