Motorists will encounter three separate work zones on US 550 (North Main) this month

November 1, 2013 - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - DURANGO – Motorists on US 550 (North Main Avenue) will encounter three separate work zones next week, and into mid-November, due to some necessary maintenance work by the Colorado Department of Transportation, Atmos Energy and the City of Durango.

Work on US 550 (North Main) this Month:

(All work dates are weather permitting)

Monday through Thursday, Nov 4-7, CDOT work on Junction Creek Bridge (south of 24th Street): CDOT bridge crews will replace a concrete deck panel on the northbound, left lane of the bridge just south of Durango High School (over Junction Creek). On Monday and Tuesday, the left lane will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Wednesday andThursday, the left lane will remain closed overnight while the concrete sets up (in other words the left-lane closure will be in place from 9 a.m. Wednesday morning through about 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon).

Monday through Friday, Nov 4-8 Atmos Energy work at 18th Street:Atmos will be removing a concrete panel in the southbound, right lane of the roadway to bore under Main Avenue to locate existing utility lines. Motorists on southbound North Main will encounter a closure of the right lane approaching 18th Street, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wednesday through Friday, *Nov 13-15, City of Durango work between 31st & 32nd Streets: The City will need to make repairs to a water main in this block under the northbound, right lane. *These dates are estimates at this point and confirmation will be sent next week. When work does get underway, motorists will encounter a closure of the northbound right lane between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
