Westbound I-70 at Wadsworth Reduced to One Lane

December 19, 2013 - Statewide Transportation Plan - Emergency repairs continue, delays expected throughout the evening.

Statewide – Joint repairs on westbound I-70 at Wadsworth Boulevard will continue today through rush hour. Emergency Repairs began this morning on two damaged joints in this area. Traffic was reduced to one lane on westbound I-70 as crews worked to repair the first joint. Crews have now completed that work and repairs have begun on the second damaged joint. Traffic was temporarily reinstated in all lanes as the closure was switched to accommodate these repairs.

Westbound I-70 will be reduced to one lane as repairs continue. The right two lanes of I-70 will remain closed until repairs are completed. Heavy delays are expected throughout the work zone, motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes and to avoid this area, particularly during peak travel times. Crews will continue to work throughout the evening until all repairs are completed, but at this time there is no estimated time of reopening the closed lanes. Those travelling in the area are advised to allow for extra travel time, and are urged to drive Slow for the Cone Zone!
