Major Intersection Closure at US 85 and County Road 6

July 1, 2015 - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - North and Southbound Fast Lane and Turn Lane Impacted.

WELD COUNTY The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is currently milling and resurfacing a 4.6-mile segment of northbound US 85 between Brighton and Fort Lupton in Weld County. The project began Thursday, June 11 and is expected to last through September 2015.

On Monday, July 6, a closure of the southbound left through lane and left turn lane at the intersection of US 85 at County Road (CR) 6 will be in place. The current northbound closure of the left through lane and left turn lane at this intersection continues. These closures will be in effect 24 hours a day, seven days a week, throughout the duration of the project. Work includes the complete reconstruction of the intersection, which requires phasing over multiple days at a time. Phasing will progress from the north and southbound right lanes, moving to the left lanes.

During construction, motorists can expect various alternating lane closures. At least one lane will be open northbound and southbound at all times to accommodate traffic. Detour signs will be in place to direct traffic to alternate routes throughout the construction zone.
