Westbound I-70 bridge work on Straight Creek scheduled for Thursday and into next week

June 14, 2016 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - Commercial truck traffic to be diverted over Loveland Pass for crew safety in work zone

SUMMIT COUNTY—On Thursday, June 16, the westbound lanes of I-70 from mile point 204-207.5 will have work being performed to prepare the bridge and deck surface for paving next week. Traffic will be delineated down into one lane from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The same lane closures will be in place again Monday, June 20 through the night of Thursday, June 24.  

TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Delays of 5-20 minutes are expected and the speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph in the construction zone.

Commercial vehicles traveling westbound are required to divert over Loveland Pass. CMV will be alerted on Variable Message Boards (VMS) of the detour route.  Trucks that fail to divert to Loveland Pass will be turned around at the Eisenhower Johnson Memorial tunnel.
