CDOT Begins Chip Seal on CO 150

Work will improve road to Great Sand Dunes National Park


ALAMOSA COUNTY—
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and United Companies will start roadwork improvements on Monday, July 18, along Colorado Highway (CO) 150 from US Highway 160 to the Great Sand Dunes National Park boundary.

The project will primarily consist of chip-sealing operations on the existing CO 150 roadway. Work will also include restriping of the roadway.

TRAVEL IMPACTS: Daytime work hours are from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please note: Traffic may be reduced to a single lane, intermittently in either direction, throughout the duration of the project. These closures may be up to two miles in length, with 15-minute delays possible through the work zone.

The speed limit will be reduced to 40 mph through the work zone. Traffic fines in the construction zone may be doubled. The project is expected to last until August 5, 2016.
