Public open house scheduled on Thursday to discuss US 6/Clifton safety improvement plan

Octobedr 10, 2017 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - Community encouraged to attend and meet project team

MESA COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation is hosting a public meeting on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 5:30 p.m. at the Clifton Community Hall, 126 2nd St. about the US 6 Clifton project. The meeting will give the public an opportunity to provide feedback on the potential US 6 transportation improvements in Clifton from I-70 B to just east of the Clifton Elementary School.

CDOT completed a Planning and Environmental Linkages Study (PEL) in 2015 that examined the need for transportation improvements along the US 6 corridor; (F Road) through Clifton. Now, based on the public input from that phase, CDOT is moving toward implementation of those improvements and the public can come to this open house anytime between 5:30-7:30 p.m. to connect to project experts.

“The project team is excited to continue the discussion with the public about these potential improvements and move forward with decisions about when or how to bring those improvements to life,” said Matt Casey, CDOT project manager.

If members of the public cannot attend the meeting, there is still an opportunity to provide feedback by visitinghttps://www.codot.gov/projects/us-6-clifton-improvements.
