SW TRAVEL ADVISORY: Snow Operations on Red Mt. & Wolf Creek Passes

February 15, 2018, SOUTHWEST & S-CENTRAL COLORADO -- Snow Operations are set for tomorrow in SW Colorado.

CDOT advises motorists that maintenance crews will be performing snow operations on two high mountain passes, US Highway (US) 160 Wolf Creek Pass and US 550 Red Mountain Pass tomorrow, Friday, February 16.

 

TRAVEL IMPACTS:

US 160 Wolf Creek Pass — Motorists will experience intermittent delays starting at 6:00 a.m. The operations may last for much of the day, but crews anticipate the closures to be of a short time frame.

 US 550 Red Mountain Pass — Motorists will encounter a complete two-hour closure of the south side of the pass from 6:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. Closure points will be located at 4 miles north of Silverton (MP 75) and at the pass summit near Ophir Pass (MP 79).

CDOT suggests motorist plan their travel for these scheduled stops. Travelers are also urged to watch for snow equipment, maintenance crews and avalanche control crews working on the mountain pass.
