US 160/550 Frontage Road (La Posta Road) Closure

March 20, 2014 - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - Mercury Village Highway Access Construction Continues – temporary road closure will cause no business access closures.

DURANGO – A section of the US 160/550 west-side frontage road will be under construction for a period of about two months while Mercury Payment System’s contractor, Okland Construction, constructs an underpass beneath US 160/550 that will connect the La Posta Road on the west side with the new Mercury Village Drive on the east side. This project is constructing highway access, as permitted by the Colorado Department of Transportation, to the new Mercury Village under construction in Bodo Industrial Park.

TRAVEL IMPACTS – Beginning at 7AM on Monday, March 24, construction will resume on the realignment of La Posta Road (CR 213). Through April 13, during curb/gutter work, motorists will encounter single-lane, alternating traffic on La Posta, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. From April 14 through April 29, La Posta Road will be completely closed between Turner Drive and the entrance to Durango Gun Club to allow for final alignment work and paving to be completed. West Turner Drive (and access to Morehart) will remain open, as will access to the Gun Club from the south. Those wanting to get to the Gun Club can do so by taking River Road (at Home Depot) and traveling north on La Posta.
