Highway 24 Bridge Work Next Week

April 18, 2014 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - Project One of Three in Manitou Area

MANITOU SPRINGS – The Colorado Department of Transportation will be installing new expansion joints on the El Paso Boulevard/Fountain Creek Bridge beginning Monday.

Drivers can expect the following lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday (April 21 – 24):

  • Right lane closed westbound Monday
  • Left lane closed westbound Tuesday
  • Right lane closed eastbound Wednesday
  • Left lane closed eastbound Thursday

Replacing expansion joints is part of CDOT’s on-going maintenance operations to extend the lifespan of its bridges.

PLEASE NOTE:  Drivers should be prepared for slower traffic on U.S. 24 due to single lane closures in this area and two other nearby locations:Eastbound at Williams Canyon Bridge, at the west end of Manitou Springs (8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday); and eastbound and westbound at Waldo Canyon, about one mile west of Manitou Springs (24/7).
