CDOT Seeking Input on Southeastern Colorado Transit
PUEBLO – The Colorado Department of Transportation’s (CDOT) Division of Transit & Rail is holding an open house next week on how best to improve public transit through southeastern Colorado and enhance connectivity along the Front Range.
Citizens are invited to attend the meeting at the Emergency Service Center, 101 West 10th Street – Room 144, on Wednesday, May 21, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A formal presentation begins around 5:30 p.m.
CDOT is gathering feedback on how best to enhance local, regional and human service transportation needs as part of developing a comprehensive and integrated transit system for Colorado. It includes examining various aspects of transit, including what services currently exist, where there are gaps in service, future requirements, and how much funding will be needed.
CDOT already has conducted 17 open houses in the state’s non-urban regions. All of the information gathered from these forums will be integrated into the Statewide Transit Plan, which is expected to be completed in early summer 2014. Then it will be integrated into CDOT’s Statewide Transportation Plan.
