CDOT Seeking Input on Western Colorado Transit

May 28, 2014 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - GRAND JUNCTION – The Colorado Department of Transportation’s (CDOT) Division of Transit & Rail is holding an open house tomorrow on how best to improve public transit through western Colorado and enhance connectivity between the Western Slope and Front Range.

Citizens are invited to attend on Wednesday, May 28, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Grand Valley Transit Operations Building, 525 South 6th Street, 2ndFloor.  A formal presentation begins about 5:30 p.m.

CDOT is gathering feedback on how best to enhance local, regional and human service transportation needs as part of developing a comprehensive and integrated transit system for Colorado.  It includes examining various aspects of transit, including what services currently exist, where there are gaps in service, future requirements, and how much funding will be needed.

All of the information gathered from these forums will be integrated into the Statewide Transit Plan, which is expected to be completed in early summer 2014.  Then it will be integrated into CDOT’s Statewide Transportation Plan.
