Needed highway repairs may impact morning commutes next week

May 9, 2014 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - Colorado Springs – Needed highway repairs on Interstate 25 in the expansion project work zone begin Sunday night and will continue each night through Thursday, May 15.

Crews will make every effort to wrap up work by 5:30 a.m. each day, but drivers should be prepared for work to continue beyond 5:30, which may impact morning commutes.

Drivers will encounter double-lane closures in both directions of I-25 between 8:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. However, some repairs may take additional time and work could extend to 7 a.m., if necessary. Work will take place:

  • Sunday, May 11 – Southbound I-25 at North Gate Boulevard
  • Monday, May 12 – Northbound I-25 at North Gate Boulevard
  • Tuesday, May 13 and Wednesday, May 14 – Southbound I-25 at Jackson Creek (between North Gate Boulevard and Baptist Road)
  • Thursday, May 15 – Southbound I-25 at Interquest Parkway

All work is subject to weather and road conditions.
