State Highway 13 Safety Improvement Project to Begin Monday

July 18, 2014 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - MOFFAT COUNTY— The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is beginning a resurfacing project on SH 13 at mile marker 79-88, near the intersection of US 40.

The first phase of the project will involve milling and paving the highway and should be wrapped up by the end of August.  Additional work includes heave repairs and guardrail improvements and will run from August through October 2014.  Connell Resources, of Steamboat Springs, is the contractor for the $7.4 million project.

TRAVEL IMPACTS: Beginning Monday, flaggers are alternating one lane of traffic through the work zone between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  The speed limit is reduced through the work zone so CDOT reminds motorists to Slow for the Cone Zone.  Motorists are also encouraged to review CDOT’s lane closure reports online at http://www.coloradodot.info/travel/scheduled-lane-closures.html.
