Telephone Town Hall for I-25 North Express Lanes Hosted by CDOT

July 7, 2014 - Metro Denver Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - Public invited to attend

Denver Metro Area/Northern Colorado — The Colorado Department of Transportation will host a telephone town hall on Wednesday, July 9 at 7 p.m. to discuss the I-25 North Express Lanes Project.

The telephone town hall phone call is scheduled to last for one hour and will include representatives from CDOT and Flatiron Constructors to answer questions on the Express Lanes and upcoming construction for this project as well as impacts to motorists. Starting in mid-July, the clearance of the road on I-25 at the 88th Avenue bridge will change as the road below the bridge will be lowered by approximately one foot. Information about new traffic patterns, detours and the method of lowering that will be used will be covered during this call.

“This telephone town hall is a great opportunity for the public to really understand what this project entails and the improvements it will bring to all motorists traveling this stretch of I-25,” Andrew Stratton, Project Manager for the I-25 North Express Lanes project said. “With major work beginning on the roadway very soon we want everyone to be aware of the impacts to best plan their travels.”

In addition we will be discussing this newest addition to Express Lanes in the metro area. Improving our roadways is critical to meeting the transportation needs of Colorado. As transportation needs increase, access to government funding for transportation is decreasing just as rapidly. Working with a gas tax that never increases with inflation, more energy efficient cars and diminished government funding, Colorado must find other ways to finance necessary capacity improvements to our roadways. Express Lanes is one of those innovative methods of improvements.

To participate in the town hall, call 877-229-8493 anytime between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. and enter the code 112034#. For those who are unable to call Thursday evening, an audio recording of the call will be available online at the project website at http://www.coloradodot.info/projects/I25NorthExpressLanes.
