I-25 ramp closures and detours for paving scheduled this week

August 16, 2014 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - Colorado Springs, Colo. – Construction crews are working around the unpredictable weather milling and paving on I-25 between Colorado Springs and Monument.

Crews are now paving southbound lanes from just north of Interquest Parkway to Woodmen Road. As crews continue milling and paving, drivers will encounter several short-term southbound ramp closures and detours, necessary to complete paving operations. The ramps will each close early evenings for about 5-8 hours, reopening as paving is complete.

Scheduled ramp closure/detour dates and times are:

  • Interquest Parkway – Tuesday, Aug. 19
    • Southbound off-ramp closes 6:30 p.m.
      • Detour: I-25 south to Briargate Parkway exit; Briargate Parkway east to Voyager Parkway; Voyager Parkway north to Interquest Parkway
    • Southbound onramp closes 8:30 p.m.
      • Detour: Interquest Parkway to Voyager Parkway; Voyager Parkway south to Briargate Parkway; Briargate Parkway west to southbound I-25
  • Briargate Parkway – Thursday, Aug. 21
    • Southbound off-ramp closes 6:30 p.m.
      • Detour: I-25 south to N. Academy Boulevard; N. Academy Boulevard south to Voyager Parkway; Voyager Parkway north to Briargate Parkway
    • Southbound onramp closes 8:30 p.m.
      • Detour: Briargate Parkway to Voyager Parkway; Voyager Parkway south to N. Academy Boulevard; N. Academy Boulevard to southbound I-25
  • N. Academy Boulevard – Sunday, Aug. 24
    • Southbound off-ramp closes 6:30 p.m.
      • Detour: I-25 south to Woodmen Road; Woodmen Road east to N. Academy Boulevard
    • Southbound onramp closes 8:30 p.m.
      • Detour: N. Academy Boulevard south to Woodmen Road; Woodmen Road west to southbound I-25

The addition of daytime milling and paving will result in:

  • Daytime speed limits will be reduced to 55 mph where milling and paving are taking place
  • Nighttime speed limits will remain at 45 mph where milling and paving are taking place
