UPCOMING WORK ON I-76 OVER UPRR AND 104TH AVENUE IN ADAMS COUNTY

August 29, 2014 - Metro Denver Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - ADAMS COUNTY –The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has begun work on I-76 over the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) in Adams County, which includes major bridge demolition and construction.

On Tuesday, Sept. 2, between 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. a traffic switch will will occur where westbound traffic will be diverted to eastbound lanes, with a concrete barrier separating traffic. This will be the first step in preparing for the demolition of the westbound bridge over the UPRR, which is set to begin on Thursday, Sept. 4.

Also on Tuesday, Sept. 2, a deck pour will occur for a new structure for 104th Avenue over I-76. This project will utilize the same closure as the I-76 over UPRR work, between the same hours. The contractors on both projects are working to coordinate schedules as much as possible to limit road closure impacts on the traveling public.
