Upcoming I-25 Traffic Shifts, Lincoln to County Line

September 30, 2014 - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - Lone Tree, CO – In an effort to reach a major milestone on the I-25 widening project from Lincoln Avenue to County Line Road, nightly lane closures will be performed until the northbound traffic shift is completed, which is scheduled for mid-October.

The southbound traffic shift was performed on September 27th and will be in this configuration until 2015.

This week, the existing median barrier wall will be removed under the nightly lane closures. The day time operations will consist of grubbing and excavation and can be seen on the east side of the highway.

The $32 million project will add an additional lane in each direction on I-25 from Lincoln Avenue to County Line Road, resulting in four lanes in each direction. In addition to expanding capacity on I-25, crews will be replacing existing asphalt with concrete to better match the I-25 corridor. This project will also help improve the traffic patterns from the C-470 southbound off-ramp and the northbound Lincoln on-ramp merges, as well as provide better pedestrian trail connections. Funded by CDOT, Douglas County, City of Lone Tree and DRCOG, the project will be completed no later than June 2016.

CDOT and IHC greatly appreciate your patience and cooperation while going through the work zone. Thank you for going Slow for the Cone Zone.
