Upcoming I-25 Northbound Traffic Shift, Lincoln to County Line

October 10, 2014 - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - Lone Tree, CO – The Colorado Department of Transportation’s (CDOT) I-25 widening project from Lincoln Avenue to County Line Road will shift northbound traffic to the west beginning Sunday, Oct. 12, at 8 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. the next morning.

During the shift, one northbound lane will remain open to reduce travel impact to motorists.

This new configuration will reduce shoulder and lane widths to accommodate construction through the work zone.  Motorists will also see reduced speed limits and new ramp configurations at northbound Lincoln and C-470/E-470. Traffic will remain in this new alignment for the rest of 2014 while crews work on widening northbound I-25.

The $32 million project will add an additional lane in each direction on I-25 from Lincoln Avenue to County Line Road, resulting in four lanes in each direction. In addition to expanding capacity on I-25, crews will be replacing existing asphalt with concrete to better match the I-25 corridor. This project will also help improve the traffic patterns from the C-470 southbound off-ramp and the northbound Lincoln on-ramp merges, as well as provide better pedestrian trail connections. Funded by CDOT, Douglas County, City of Lone Tree and DRCOG, the project will be completed no later than June 2016.

CDOT reminds motorists to drive slow and distraction-free through the work zone.
