August 25, 2016 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - Closures will last between August 26 and August 29

EL PASO COUNTY —The Interstate 25 Overlay and MLK Overpass project will include two full-ramp closures for weekend work between Friday, August 26 and Monday, August 29. Work will include milling and paving of these ramps.

The northbound I-25 off ramp to eastbound Highway 24 at exit 139 will be fully closed beginning on Friday, August 26 at 8:00 p.m. and reopen on Saturday, August 27 at 12:00 PM, and the southbound I-25 onramp from westbound Highway 24 at exit 139 will be fully closed between Saturday, August 27 at 12 p.m. and continue until Monday, August 29 at 5:00 a.m.

A detour will be specified near the project zone rerouting traffic to the Nevada Avenue Exit 140 during full-ramp closures. A U-turn movement will allow traffic to reenter southbound I-25, and commuters can use Exit 139 to access highway 24 eastbound or continue south on I-25. Attached are two maps that describe the detours during ramp closures.

Motorists need to be aware of possible traffic stops along the roadway. For project updates, please email [email protected] or call the project hotline at (719) 212-0139.
