Northbound and Southbound I-25 Off-Ramp Closures

  • Full closure of northbound and southbound I-25 off-ramps to Cimarron Street/US 24 for paving activities. 

    • Tuesday, Aug. 16 through Thursday, Aug. 18 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly

    • Detour Bijou Street to Nevada Avenue.

Southbound I-25 Lane Restrictions

  • Lane restrictions on southbound I-25 between Bijou Street and south Tejon Street/Nevada exit for hauling dirt.

    • Tuesday, Aug. 16 through Thursday, Aug. 18 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly

Full Overnight Closure on US 24/Cimarron Under I-25

  • Motorists will experience a full closure on US 24/Cimarron Street between I-25 and Sierra Madre Street to set girders for the Cimarron bridge.

    • Tuesday, Aug. 16 through Thursday, Aug. 18 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly.

    • Westbound US 24/Cimarron Street detour to north Nevada Avenue to west Colorado Avenue to Limit Street. Eastbound US 24/Cimarron Street detour on southbound I-25 to Nevada Avenue/Tejon Street and back on north I-25 or south Nevada Ave. to Cimarron Street.

Westbound US 24/Cimarron Street Closure

  • Westbound US 24/Cimarron Street will be closed between 8th Street and I-25 to set girders on the US 24 bridge over Fountain Creek. Southbound I-25 on and off-ramps will remain open.

    • Friday, Aug. 19 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

    • Detour to north Nevada Avenue to west Colorado Avenue to Limit Street.

Project Coordination

The Cimarron Interchange Project Team coordinates schedules with other projects in the area to minimize impacts to the traveling public as much as possible during the busy summer construction season.

  • MLK - Northbound and southbound I-25 overlay south of the I-25 Cimarron Interchange Project - night work South Circle Drive to South Tejon Street /Nevada Avenue resulting in lane restrictions. Work begins the week of Aug. 14.

PROJECT INFORMATION: The $113 million I-25/Cimarron Interchange Design-Build Project involves rebuilding the I-25 interchange between Colorado Avenue on the north and South Nevada Avenue to the south, 8th Street on the west and the Cimarron Street over Fountain Creek bridge on the east. Improvements are intended to provide enhanced operations, correct existing safety and design deficiencies, and to serve the anticipated short- and long-term travel demands in this area. When complete, this will be a high-functioning interchange that safely handles more vehicles and enhances multi-modal travel for those using I-25, US 24/Cimarron Street and the trail system along Monument and Fountain creeks. Substantial completion is planned for fall 2017.
