Repairs Set for US 24 Bridge at Johnson Village

August 25, 2016 - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - CHAFFEE COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will begin a rehabilitation project on the US Highway 24 bridge over the Arkansas River at Johnson Village on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Work on this project will include repairs to the deck, expansion joints, bridge rails and piers. Motorists can expect the project to be completed by the end of Oct. (see map image attached)

TRAVEL and ACCESS IMPACTS: Work will occur between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. There will be one-lane alternating traffic 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout the course of the project. Delays up to 10 minutes can be expected. The speed limit will be reduced to 40 MPH and wide loads larger than 12 ft. will be restricted through the work zone.  

CDOT and TLM Constructors, Inc. urge motorists and residents to use caution when traveling over the bridge and thank the public for their patience during this construction.
