TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Gazex maintenance on Loveland and Berthoud Passes Tuesday and Wednesday

August 29, 2016 - Denver Metro/CDOT Region 1/Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - NORTH CENTRAL COLORADO — Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) crews will perform routine maintenance on the Gazex system on Tuesday, August 30, and Wednesday, August 31.

As part of the operation, a helicopter will be used to transport oxygen and propane bottles from the slide areas to be filled. At the end of September 2016, the bottles will be reinstalled in preparation for winter weather. 

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

US 6 Loveland Pass: Closed to all traffic on Tuesday, August 30, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. All traffic and hazmat vehicles will be routed through the Eisenhower/Johnson Memorial Tunnels.

US 40 Berthoud Pass: Up to 30 minute traffic holds between mile posts 247 and 250 on Wednesday, August 31, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
