Two-Day Closure of Indiana Avenue Under I-25 Planned

PUEBLO—The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and contractor Flatiron Constructors, Inc. will close Indiana Avenue beneath Interstate 25 and at the northbound Evans Avenue on- and off-ramps at 6 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20 through 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21.

This closure is to facilitate bridge construction necessary to complete this part of the I-25/Ilex Design-Build Project.

Motorists wanting to access Indiana Avenue on the east side of I-25 will be detoured south on I-25 to Exit 94 (Pueblo Boulevard) then to northbound I-25.

Motorists wanting to access Indiana Avenue on the west side of I-25 will be detoured to Exit 97A (Central Avenue) to southbound I-25.

The I-25 Ilex Street to City Center Drive project is the first project of the New Pueblo Freeway: the reconstruction of I-25 between City Center Drive (1st Street) and Ilex Street through downtown Pueblo. Construction includes upgrading a number of bridges south of downtown. The project began in July 2015, and is expected to be completed in 2018.
