Work to begin on eastbound I-70 near Frisco

August 31, 2016 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - Road surface replacement will result in smoother ride

SUMMIT COUNTY — Following the Labor Day holiday, Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) contractors will begin mobilizing equipment for a mill and fill asphalt project. The week of Sept. 12 work will take place on eastbound Interstate 70 in the right lane. The project limits, approximately six miles, extend from mile point (MP) 197.5 to MP 203.5.

TRAVEL IMPACTS: Travelers should expect eastbound single lane closures and possible traffic delays through the area during road improvements. Flaggers will be in place to guide traffic, as needed. Construction work hours will be Monday through Thursday during daylight hours, and on Friday, crews will be off the road by noon. There is no night or weekend work planned at this time. Speeds will be reduced to 50 mph, and there will be no width restrictions in place during working hours.

All work on the project is expected to be complete by mid-October. A&S Construction of Canon City will perform as prime contractor on this $1.2 million project.
