Overview
There are two annual national Safe Routes to School events. Celebrations organized by individual schools or communities are great opportunities to encourage walking, bicycling and rolling, get kids practicing their skills, and for parents and caregivers to experience how safe and fun it is for their children to walk and bike to and from school.
National Walk and Roll to School Day is coming up on Wednesday, Oct. 7, and we hope you have a fun event planned. Feel free to celebrate on any day in October that best fits your schedule, and don't forget to register your event at walkbiketoschool.org.
To support your celebrations, the Colorado Department of Transportation is again offering free stickers and posters to our Safe Routes to School partners.
Each order includes stickers and four free promotional posters in English and Spanish. Digital versions of the posters will also be available for download on the Colorado Safe Routes to School website.
Please place your order by Aug. 28 emailing [email protected] with the following:
- Your full name
- The school or district you represent
- The address where you would like the stickers and posters delivered
- The number of stickers you would like
- Contact email
Please email your orders by August 28, 2026.
The next Bike and Roll to School Day is scheduled for Wednesday, May 5, 2027. For the most recent Bike and Roll to School Day held on May 6, 2026, CDOT provided free stickers and downloadable posters to support celebrations across the state.
