State Highway 52 Resurfacing Project Complete

January 9, 2012 - PROJECT UPDATE - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - Project finished on time, on budget.

BOULDER COUNTY — The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has completed the State Highway (SH) 52 resurfacing project. The project impacted roughly 4.5 miles of highway from SH 119 to SH 287 near Niwot.

Crews paved SH 52 in asphalt to eliminate ruts and cracks in the road, making for a smoother and safer driving surface. They also installed and repaired all guardrails along the project, and installed culvert extensions to help with drainage. To minimize the impact to motorists, the majority of repairs were performed at night. Brannan Sand and Gravel was the contractor of this $3.7 million project that started in September 2011.
