Heavy Traffic Week Ahead

July 2, 2012 - Central Eastern Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - DENVER – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is reminding drivers to anticipate heavy traffic in many areas of the state during 4th of July week.

Lane Closures on Eastbound I-70 through the Twin Tunnels Next Week

July 5, 2012 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Central Eastern Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - CLEAR CREEK COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will close one lane of eastbound Interstate 70 through the Twin Tunnels and near Floyd Hill next week. Drilling, surveying and design work is taking place in advance of the upcoming I-70 widening project.

Delays Expected on State Highway 72 Next Week

July 6, 2012 - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - Beginning Tuesday, July 10 and lasting through next Friday, July 13, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be using a pilot car on the State Highway (SH) 72 resurfacing project north of Nederland and the SH 119 intersection.

Excavation on State Highway 14 to Require Detour on Cameron Pass

July 6, 2012 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 and Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - Beginning Monday, July 9, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be routing traffic to a detour on State Highway (SH) 14 over Cameron Pass to allow for excavation work on the south side of the highway.

Big Bump Project Moving into High Gear Next Week

July 6, 2012 - Central Eastern Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - SUMMIT COUNTY – Work leveling the landslide formation on Interstate 70, known as the “Big Bump,” about one mile west of the Eisenhower/Johnson Memorial Tunnel (EJMT), shifts to full-time construction on Monday, July 9.

Maintenance Work Scheduled on Vail Pass tomorrow through Thursday

July 9, 2012 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - Tomorrow, Tuesday, July 10, through Thursday, July 12, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will perform minor highway maintenance work on eastbound I-70 at Vail Pass from mile marker (MM) 181 to MM 184.

State Highway 14 Completely Open through Poudre Canyon West of Ted's Place

July 9, 2012 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 and Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - State Highway 14 is now open west of Ted’s Place/US 287 intersection. Earlier today, crews from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) closed the highway when rainfall in the area caused some loose rocks and debris to come down on the highway.

US 24 Closed North of Leadville

July 9, 2012 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has closed all lanes of US 24 north of Leadville at mile marker 165 south of Red Cliff.

Highway 160 Bridge Project Set to Start

July 10, 2012 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) begins a three-bridge improvement project on U.S. 160 next week, east and west of Pritchett.

Watch for Bicyclists This Weekend – Bergen Park to Avon

July 10, 2012 - Central Colorado/CDOT Regions 1 and 3 - The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is advising drivers to be prepared for a large number of bicyclists traveling the highways in various locations between Bergen Park and Avon on Saturday, July 14, and Sunday, July 15.

US 24 Sinkhole Update

July 10, 2012 - Northwest Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has one lane of US 24 open to traffic north of Leadville at mile marker 165 south of Red Cliff.

US 24 Closed Indefinitely North of Leadville to All Traffic

July 10, 2012 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has completely closed US 24 in both directions to all traffic, including local, north of Leadville at mile marker 165 south of Red Cliff.

Waldo Canyon Trailhead Closing

July 11, 2012 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), per a request from the U.S. Forest Service (USFS), is closing the Waldo Canyon Trailhead until further notice.
