State Highway 16 Near Fort Carson

February 17, 2012 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - FOUNTAIN – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be replacing about 20 concrete surface panels on Mesa Ridge Parkway (State Highway 16) this weekend, requiring around-the-clock lane closures.

Beginning at 7 tonight, and continuing until midday Sunday, February 19, only one lane of eastbound and westbound SH 16 will be open to traffic between Bandley Road and the east side of the Fountain Creek Bridge, about ¼ mile.  The left turn lane from westbound Mesa Ridge to southbound Bandley Road also will remain open.

When the work is completed, the left lanes of eastbound and westbound SH 16 then will be closed through the same area for median work until Monday afternoon (February 20), weather permitting.

CDOT is replacing concrete panels that have settled.  Replacing the panels will provide the traveling public with a smoother road surface.

Drivers are reminded to please Slow for the Cone Zone, stay alert and pay attention to and obey all work zone/advisory signs and flaggers.
