Upcoming Maintenance Projects in Pikes Peak Area

April 27, 2012 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - COLORADO SPRINGS – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be performing maintenance operations on Powers Boulevard and U.S. 24 next week.

Monday, April 30, through Friday, May 4: Lane shifts will be in place on northbound and southbound Powers Boulevard (State Highway 21) at the North Carefree Circle intersection from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., to repair a highway depression and utility repairs.  Traffic will be reduced to one lane – southbound, then northbound – on Powers.  Eastbound and westbound traffic on North Carefree will be detoured around the intersection during the same hours.  Delays should be expected.

Monday, April 30:Single, alternating lane closures will be in place on U.S. 24 at the Williams Canyon Bridge, near the Cave of the Winds turnoff, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Westbound lane closures occur first, then switch to the eastbound lanes.  The closures will allow CDOT to conduct bridge inspection operations.  Traffic delays are possible.

Motorists are reminded to please Slow for the Cone Zone, stay alert and pay attention to and obey all work zone/advisory signs and flaggers.
