Powers Paving to Impact Side Road Traffic

July 20, 2012 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - COLORADO SPRINGS – Rotomilling and paving operations will impact side roads entering and exiting Powers Boulevard (State Highway 21) next week between E. Platte Avenue and Palmer Park Boulevard.

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be closing intersections to through and turning traffic as paving operations move through the crossroads intersecting Powers.  Drivers will need to use other streets, north and south of the work-zone, to access Powers or other roadways since side road closures are expected to remain in place for up to two hours, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sunday, July 22, through Friday, July 27.

Motorists using Powers during work hours can expect single or double lane closures on northbound and/or southbound Powers.  One lane of traffic will be open at all times while work is taking place but traffic slowing or delays should be expected.  The speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph.

The $10.3 million project is scheduled for completion in September 2012.
