Upcoming Surface Improvements on Highway 24

July 19, 2012 - Central Eastern Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - PARK COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is paving U.S 24 on the east side of Wilkerson Pass next week.

Beginning on Monday, July 23, and continuing through Thursday, July 26, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., pilot cars will be alternating traffic at various locations on U.S. 24, beginning about  2 ½ miles east of the Wilkerson Pass summit and continuing east two miles.  Delays up to 10 minutes should be expected. All work is weather permitting.

The road is being resurfaced with 1 ½ inches of asphalt, preventing surface deterioration and helping to preserve the road base.
