US 36 Express Lanes Project Kicking Off Construction with a Series of Public Information Meetings

July 24, 2012 - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 6 - Meetings held in Broomfield, Westminster, and Boulder.

DENVER– The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) along with Ames Granite, the design-build contractor for US 36 Express Lanes, will be holding three public meetings along the US 36 corridor to announce the start of construction and introduce the project team. Agencies, residents, businesses and other stakeholders are encouraged to attend one of the following meetings:

Wednesday, July 25, 2012
6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at Broomfield High School – Auditorium
1 Eagle Way, Broomfield, CO 80020

Thursday, July 26, 2012
6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at Hidden Lake High School – Media Room

At each of these meetings, the project team will provide an overview of the project and schedule, including traveler impacts and will be available to answer any questions. There will be no formal presentation so attendees can stop by any time between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

The $312 million multi-modal project will build an express lane in each direction on US 36 from Federal Boulevard to 88th Street in Louisville/Superior. The lanes will accommodate High Occupancy Vehicles (HOV), Bus Rapid Transit and tolled Single Occupancy Vehicles. In addition, the project will replace several bridges, build a commuter bikeway, add Bus Rapid Transit improvements, and install Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) for tolling, transit and traveler information, and incident management.
