Twin Tunnels Updated Weekly Traffic Advisory

CLEAR CREEK COUNTY – Traffic stops and lane closures will be taking place on Interstate 70 at the Twin Tunnels (east Idaho Springs) next week for geological testing.

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will implement the following overnight closures:

• Monday, August 27, 6 p.m. to Tuesday, August 28, 6 a.m.
  30 minute traffic stops eastbound at the Twin Tunnels at the top of each hour from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.
  Left lane closed eastbound & westbound through the Twin Tunnels

• Tuesday, August 28, 6 p.m. to Wednesday, August 29, 6 a.m.
  30 minute traffic stops eastbound at the Twin Tunnels at the top of each hour from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.
  Left lane closed eastbound & westbound through the Twin Tunnels

• Wednesday, August 29, 6 p.m. to Thursday, August 30, 6 a.m.
  30 minute traffic stops eastbound at the Twin Tunnels at the top of each hour from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.
  Left lane closed eastbound & westbound through the Twin Tunnels

Lane closures will resume after the Labor Day Weekend, and continue for the next several weeks, not including weekends and holidays.  Weekly advisories will be distributed, detailing traffic impacts for the following week.
