I-70 Resurfacing Between Dotsero and Gypsum Complete

October 9, 2012 - CONSTRUCTION PROJECT UPDATE - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - Project improved surface and safety features of the interstate.

EAGLE COUNTY — Crews from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) have finished a resurfacing project on I-70 between Dotsero, at mile marker (MM) 130, and Gypsum, at MM 139. Safety improvements were made along the project length, including guardrail replacements, guardrail extensions, and bridge rail replacements on seven bridges.

The project began in May 2012 and ran slightly behind because when guardrail and fencing took longer to install than had been originally anticipated. Crews resurfaced a noticeably cracked surface on I-70, and made safety improvements to bring the stretch of highway up to existing safety standards.

Marietta Materials was the contractor for this $8.7 million project.
