24/7 Lane Closure on I-70 near Limon

November 7, 2012 - Central Eastern Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - ELBERT COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has closed one lane of westbound Interstate 70, about 15 miles west of Limon, to replace damaged concrete road panels.

I-70 is reduced to one lane through the area at mile 345, five miles east of Agate, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  The speed limit is reduced to 50 mph through the work zone.

The right lane remains open through the work zone while operations take place in the left lane.  Once completed, work moves to the right lane.  All work is scheduled for completion on Friday, November 16.

Lane closures are required to allow the damaged panels to be removed, installation of new concrete panels, and appropriate curing time for the new panels.

The roadway was damaged after a multi-vehicle accident on October 26 closed westbound I-70 for several hours.
