Culvert Replacement Project on US 24 North of Leadville Complete

November 28, 2012 - CONSTRUCTION PROJECT UPDATE - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - Project replaced undersized structures to help prevent roadway flooding.

LAKE COUNTY — The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has finished a culvert replacement project on US 24 near of Leadville from mile marker (MM) 169 to MM 170.7, which is approximately a 1.7 mile stretch near Tennessee Pass.

The project will protect the highway from future flooding by more effectively directing drainage under US 24 via seven new culverts. Crews also made significant shouldering and embankment improvements to the highway to bring it up to current standards. Northern Colorado Constructors, Inc. was the contractor for this $1.5 million project.
