December 14, 2012 - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - Colorado Department of Transportation contractor Lawson Construction has completed the concrete reconstruction on South Broadway (US 160/491) and operations will soon be suspended for the winter.

On Thursday evening (December 13), crews shifted the north- and southbound lanes of South Broadway onto the newly constructed concrete.

Final work activities include:

  • After the new year, crews will return to complete any minor electrical and curb and gutter work in preparation for winter suspension
  • By winter suspension in early January, all traffic devices and barrels will be removed from the roadway and traffic will be placed into its final configuration and fully open to traffic.
  • Crews will return in the spring to complete final punch list items such as striping, minor curb and gutter work and erect a traffic signal pole at the intersection US 160 and US 491.
