Contractor Meeting

Subject: US 24 Buena Vista Enhancement Project

Tuesday, May 24, 2016, 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.

Colorado Mountain College, Room 116

27900 CR 319, Buena Vista

Keith Magowan, CDOT project engineer (Alamosa area) said, “We’d like to give area contractors a chance to learn more about this project. We’ll explain the many services that are needed for a project of this magnitude and answer any questions about contracting opportunities available.”

CDOT is currently accepting bids for a prime contractor and expects to announce the successful bidding construction company in early June. In association with the bid, subcontractors will have the opportunity to work with the prime construction company to submit bids on needed services. Subcontracting jobs may include: surveying, site prep/cleanup, traffic control, asphalt paving, concrete work, landscaping and several other services.

Construction on the intersection is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2017 and will last about a year. The project, which has an estimated cost of $10 million (including design), will enhance safety and business access, and include multi-modal features. The project is a RAMP* partnership with the Town of Buena Vista (*Responsible Acceleration of Maintenance & Partnerships).
